The NH Bail and Bond Fund believes that nobody should be in jail because they cannot afford bail or bond.
In the fall of 2020, the Fund saw a marked increase in need for our services at the Valley Street Jail. At “Getting Free, Staying Free”, we will hear why this is the case and what we can do about it.

UU Mass Action senior organizer Cassandra Bensahih, a leader in criminal justice reform in Massachusetts. A mother whose life has been personally impacted by incarceration, she will talk about the urgent need for change to our incarceration system and why social action matters now more than ever.
A panel of NH leaders will respond to Cassandra’s comments, discussing the state of criminal justice in NH and opportunities for change in NH. Sarah Dan Jones, Director of Music Ministry of Starr King UU Fellowship of Plymouth NH, will provide music.
The proceeds of this event will go to both the NH Bail and Bond Fund and UU Action NH. UU Action NH provides staffing for the fund, including volunteer recruitment and bookkeeping.
